Basic steps to binding mud 

·       ½ water ½ soil (or to pasty mix)

·       Let soil soak up water

-         Separates clay particles making it easier to mix

·       Mix until smooth

·       Add sand and lime 

-         Helps prevent cracking

·       Add water and mix to smooth consistency

·       Add straw

·       Mix and add water

·       Pull off frame as soon as possible to allow for drying
